Hi Lesley,

We are having the best time with Laker.  He is such a good dog.  He did very well on the ride home to Brett's parents-just looked around for a while and then slept.  He slept most of the way home to Flin Flon-up every so often to quietly look around!  The nights are going OK- he hardly even wined the first night (at the most 2 min).  He sleeps in his kennel in our room.

....We really appreciate all the care you have taken in what you do!  The puppy package has been very helpful-thank you for all the helpful information.  We could not be more pleased right now with our beautiful dog!

I'll send some pictures of Laker later today or tomorrow.

Hey there Lesley,

Just wanted to let you know that Laker is doing very, very well.  He is learning so much and is having a blast.  He is able to "come", "sit" and "stay" on command.  He also definitely knows "no" and "off" as well when he jumps up on something he shouldn't.  He has started to figure out "leave it" as well.  Man, we think we have the smartest dog in the world.

He had his 9 week B-day last Saturday, and for it we took him on a great big boat ride to a secret beach that we know about.  He had so much fun, he just went crazy at the beach, he ran up and down, up and down, the beach and in and out of the water, countless times.  It was just so much fun to watch.  After about a 1.5 hour playtime he slept for four hours in the boat solid while Ruth and I fished.  It was just so much fun.

.... Anyway, thank you so much again for such a great, well behaved puppy.  He is so calm and quiet, well most of the time, he can get pretty revved up too, when we have playtime.  He is gettting his next shot in two more days, and we are counting down the days when we can take him out and about.  We have a great doggy park near our block with a very cool pond for him to play in.  But we will just have to wait till he has had all his shots, 3 more weeks to go.

Hi Lesley,

Laker is doing great.  We think he is doing very well with his training.  He is an intelligent dog that's for sure.  He knows "sit", "stay", "down", "wait", "OK", "off", "hurry-up"(to piddle), "noooo", "leave it", and I was trying to teach "roll over" the other day for fun.  I think he almost has got that one too!  He is also well mannered for the most part (he really does understand "nooo", but he may try things when we are not looking!) and always very sweet and loving.  On Wednesday June 16th he weighed 24lbs.  .... He loves to retrieve in the back yard.  It will be very soon he will have his 3rd set of vaccines and I'm sure he will love to go for a stroll around the neighborhood.

Talk to you soon,

Ruth + Brett

Hi Lesley, just wanted to send you some more pics of Laker (at 17 weeks old) and keep you up to date on how he is doing.

He has been learning how to walk on a leash these days, which is going very well 75% of the time, he is still young and very curious of everything, especially people, and well, people just can't help but look at him come over and pet, or make a comment, or smile when they see him.  He is without a doubt the best looking dog in town, and the friendliest.  He has also been learning how to behave in the boat when we go out fishing, and he is super good.  He stays in the back with Brett and watches everything that goes on.  We usually take him to a beach and let him have a good play first and then he lays down in the back while we fish.  He does like to look over the edge at the fish coming in and what we are doing.

We recently had some friends over to visit for the weekend and we were a little apprehensive as to how they would respond to him, and if he would be too much for them, but he was so well behaved.  He would test the limits a bit at the beginning, but once he knew the limits, he was very well behaved and we all had a great time.  I was so proud of him.

We hope you enjoy the pictures.  We especially like the one with the rainbow.  It is like Laker is the pot of gold at the bottom of the rainbow!

We will see you soon.  Can you let us know what works best for you for dropping off Laker on the 27th-afternoon or evening?  Just let is know a time that works best for you.

Ruth + Brett

Hi Lesley,

Maya is doing so wonderfully!!! We are enjoying her so much.  I’m not sure how much of my message you heard before it was cut off.  But the ride home was great – Maya was so comfortable and there were no accidents in the van.  The first night she whined a little bit in her kennel over night – but that was to be expected.  On Sunday we were up early and she has been doing so well with her potty training – in fact last night she started whining just before 5 am….so I got up and took her outside and she did her stuff and came back inside.  So day 2 and she is letting us know when she has to go!!!   She is such a joy to have around, and the boys are really enjoying her as are Jamie and I.  I will send some pictures soon.

If you are ever in our end of the city and want to stop by and see her – please give us a call.  We’d be happy to have you over.

Take care, talk to you soon!!

Hi Lesley,

I hope you and your family are well.

We are enjoying Maya so much - she is such a joy!!! I've attached a couple of pictures of her - I can't believe how fast she is growing. Maya will now tell us when she needs to go outside by sitting by the door - she did so good on her potty training, we only had a few accidents!! Also she can sit and lie down now - and really loves going for walks.

We took her to the lake for the first time last weekend (which is where the pictures are from), and she just loved it so much - and acutally went swimming!!!

We are so very happy with her - she has fit into our family so nice.

Hope all is well,
Talk to you soon,
Regan and family

Hello Lesley and Kevin,

Willow did not say a word all the way home, she made herself a nest and slept mostly!  .... She is learning so fast to ask to go for a "hurry up", only one little accident on the garage floor, what an Angel she is.  Already she has taken over her toy box.  .... Speak to you soon and feel free to call us anytime.
