Before a puppy leaves for his new home, Rayneriver Kennels has the owner sign a purchase agreement in the event that a problem or health concern should arise. This written contract, which identifies the puppy, clearly outlines our responsibilities as breeders, as well as our expectations of the new owner. Further, it assures that you will be provided with a CKC registration certificate, that the pup was examined and vaccinated by our Veterinarian, and that the puppy has no known health problems at the time of purchase. The Buyer will have a health guarantee extending 72 hours after purchase, during which time the Buyer is encouraged to have the puppy checked by a licensed veterinarian of his/her choice.

The Breeder guarantees a replacement puppy (as soon as one is available) or refund of half the original purchase price, should it develop any hereditary hip, elbow, or heart defects before reaching 3 years of age, or hereditary eye faults such as Juvenile Cataracts or PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) prior to 5 years of age, provided that the Buyer agrees to the following:
(a) This dog shall not be kept at a weight in excess of that prescribed by a licensed veterinarian;
(b) This dog shall not be over-exercised (no jogging or running behind snowmobiles, bicycles or three-wheelers), in the opinion of the Breeder, or sustain joint damage due to injury until over the age of 2 years;
(c) This dog be fed a dog food approved by the breeder until the age of 2 years; and
(d) Failure to comply with the above conditions shall result in cancellation of the Breeder's guarantee of this dog.
Where any of these defects are noted, a full report from a qualified veterinarian must be forwarded to the Breeder along with the x-rays for verification and proof of spaying or neutering. All costs incurred for veterinarian, transportation, etc., are to be assumed by the Buyer. The Buyer will be allowed to retain the original dog and it will be replaced with the next available like prospect or mutually agreeable animal. In the event that no replacement dog is desired, half of the purchase price will be returned to the Buyer. There will be no further remuneration or puppy offered.
